"Advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim: The fortunate must not be restrained in the exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate." - Bertrand Russell
Capitalism, by its definition, embodies self and selfishness; the economic system characterized by private ownership of property and of the means of production. Generally the capitalist, or private enterprise, system embodies the concepts of individual initiative, competition, supply and demand, and the profit motive. It has been held responsible for various abuses, notably the exploitation of labor and nature.
A capitalists' first thought, is how he can make money to fulfill his own needs and desires. He then determines his profit. His goal is not to perform a service, but to attain wealth. The performance of service of goods as supply and demand denotes, is secondary, only in that what is most needed to take advantage and receive the most profits. He will enslave a labor force, getting away with as little pay as possible so as not to dip into his profits, thereby if he shared equally, it would keep him at the same level, but he desires prosperity and control and personal freedom, no matter if his employees have none. He looks at the (potential) needs of his (potential) customers and determines how much money he can 'steal' from them. The only thing that holds these levels is the competition. His only concern is self and money. His employees must work long hours, most of their day, sacrificing their own lives, to increase his wealth. They are told when to wake up, how long they must work, in some cases, how long and when they are allowed a rest. Some are required that their whole lives and thoughts must serve his company first, and their lives and families are secondary, and must be put on hold, when the company calls, if he wants to attain the necessary funds to sustain life, food, clothing, shelter.
Because a capitalist believes that no man is worthy of food, clothing, shelter, unless he is willing to submit and enslave himself to the capitalist. And even then, unless he spends a fortune on education, and places his whole mind in attaining the capitalists wealth, to go up the corporate ladder, but remains a laborer and makes little pay, he is still loses dignity and respect. Consider this…a homeless man, who has suffered great atrocities, and has not the power or strength to become one of these enslaved society members, is lying in the street, starving, freezing and thirsty, and across the street is a huge supermarket, and if he goes into the store, he is denied a loaf of bread because he does not have 55 cents to sustain his life! How cruel and heartless, you think?! Well, and yet, the governing forces, the laws, the police support and the public, protect the supermarket in their denial of providing this man’s needs. And the other slaves say, unless he becomes a slave like one of us, he should die of hunger. Money is more important than life (although the media constantly tries to tell us how humane our lovely governments are), meaning that there is no love, compassion, understanding, caring in a capitalistic society, because money and profit is first, foremost and solely, the only means to provide a service or product. Lovely.
In a capitalistic society, only those whose minds and lives are concentrating on attaining money and nothing else, have any value. The capitist makes his employees think that they have no choice but to serve him, as all are capitalists, and it is the same everywhere. So he rewards them miniscule rewards, a plaque, a tiny bonus, if they attain him even more profits which makes them delighted, while he relishes in wealth, power and luxury. And then he pours on them more responsibility and stress, taking more of their time and their lives, to attain even more wealth for himself. Or if labor gets to expensive and troublesome you simply replace them with machines. If greed has increased, the capitalist decides to downsize, so that he can place twice the burden on those who he keeps, while the pay of those that are fired, becomes more of his wealth. And so the stock market rises. All stolen from the purses of the working class, the poor and nature.
Capitalism is greed in its totality. Capitalism doesn’t care who is oppressed and taken advantage of, who suffers loss, or who it destroys. The laws in capitalism cater to the advantaged, and those with wealth are always protected. Such are the laws of copyrights. If a man gathers great wealth through something and a poor man tries to gather wealth with the same thing, the poor man must pay the rich man. The mass of the poor have no chance and stay destitute, oppressed, persecuted and denied. Unless they, themselves become greedy capitalists themselves and take advantage of others and steal as much money from those in need, or in want, as well.
If you refuse to allow the government to steal from you, you are placed in prison, by police, who you paid for. They are no different than a robber holding a gun to your head, and demanding your wallet.
Capitalism claims it is the free society, but in truth, it is more oppressive, more bondage of the less fortunate (which make up a huge majority of the world population) and control than any other. The only freedom you have is to become one of them. Sure you have free speech, you can complain, but what good does that do you? For if you do in a protest, the police, or army will come and shoot you, beat you, imprison you - all in the name of national interest. The whole terrorism hype is being used by governments around the world to get a tighter grip on their population and control every step you take - to protect you from 'evil terrorists' of course. You must always bow to the capitalist because your words, desires, protests, mean nothing and does not take away his power, wealth or control. Yep, you have freedom of religion, unless of course, your religion causes you to oppose the capitalists.
Any more thoughts on capitali$m?
Will such a system eventually self-destruct?
