What are the motives for the war vs. Iraq?

posted Saturday, 22 November 2003

I would like to get a bit more political today and comment on those who think that the U$ of A is a great nation spreading justice, democracy and peace thru war. This is what I have to say. Please feel free to comment as I am sure there are many people who actually look at it differently, or don't you?

I don't understand what kind of people actually still believe that we live in a world where a nation spends billions and billions of $$$ to help somebody?? We are living in a world where everybody is fighting for his/her own survival. We are living in a world full of competition and rivalry. We are living in a world which is being ruled by money, strive for profit, MNCs.

How can anybody believe what the media keeps telling us, that a war which costs an imense amount of money is being faught for people thousands of miles away??

People my friends don't count in this world. Nobody gives a damn about people.

Or don't you believe there would have been better ways of helping people with billions and billions of dollars than bombing a nation to get rid of a disillusioned leader (which Bush is by the way as well, although I'm not sure if he has any illusions, cos in my eyes he's just a puppet).

Wouldn't the great U$ of A have helped humanity much more by opening up their markets to products from developing countries, stop dumping their overproductions on developing countries' markets and destroy small local farms by doing so??

Wouldn't the great U$ of A helped much more by changing their "terms of trade" with developing countries or by simply democratizing the WTO or IMF or maybe by simply helping the developing countries by dropping their depts??

Wouldn't the great U$ of A helped much more by signing the Kyoto Protocol and restricting their corporations more when it comes to environmental destruction or exploitation overseas??

Wouldn't the great U$ of A helped much more by giving those billions and billions of tax payers money to UNICEF, CARE or GREENPEACE instead of Lockheed Martin Corp., Bechtel, Halliburton and Co.??

Look at the facts and you can't help but scratching your head. The great U$ of A (or shld I say the administration) doesn't care about anything but economic power and to represent corporate interests.

Sure, the media doesn't tell us that... but they are just part of the whole game.

I can't stand listening to people telling me how humane the U$ of A and their policies are, because it's all bull, the opposite is the case.
